Dr. Charles Schultz has been serving the community of Juneau since 1998 and communities of Ketchikan and Sitka since 2000. Dr. Schultz practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery including wisdom teeth extraction and dental implants. Dr. Schultz has a long standing commitment to the highest quality of care as well as patient comfort and safety.

Background Information

Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional 4 years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. Dr. Schultz completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Denver Health Medical Center.  As an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Schultz manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions, like facial fractures, biopsies, dental implants, dental surgery and wisdom teeth removal. He maintains certificates in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support. 

Surgical Staff

The surgical staff at Dr. Charles J Schultz, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Southeast Dental Group, PC are experienced in the administration of IV sedation and surgery. Surgical assistants are trained with certifications including implant dental assisting and assisting in anesthesia or sedation through the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.

All surgical staff attend continuing education courses provided by the  American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons on a yearly basis and all staff are CPR certified.

Uncompromising Safety

Dr. Schultz and his staff practice the latest in infection control for patient safety.  We place the highest priority on quality patient care.  We maintain strict sterilization and prevention of cross contamination measures as recommended by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC). 

Dr. Schultz is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and he and his staff are all certified in Basic Life Support.  We use continuous monitoring for all sedation patients before, during and after their procedure.
